Use this guide to sign into Ledger Live safely, connect your Ledger hardware wallet, manage accounts, and follow best practices for PIN, recovery, and device security.
Open Login GuideAlways navigate to the official Ledger site or open the Ledger Live desktop app. Avoid links in emails or third-party sites to prevent phishing.
Plug in your Ledger device with the official cable. Unlock it by entering your PIN on the device screen — never enter the PIN into your computer.
Launch Ledger Live and choose “Manager” or “Portfolio.” Ledger Live will detect your device and prompt any required firmware or app updates.
Approve the connection on the device when prompted. Ledger Live will display your accounts and balances once authentication completes.
Choose a strong PIN and never share it. If you enter the PIN incorrectly multiple times, the device may factory reset to protect assets.
Write down your recovery seed on the provided card. Store it offline in a safe place — this is the only way to restore your wallet.
Keep firmware and Ledger Live updated. Only install official app updates via Ledger Live to maintain security integrity.
Download Ledger Live only from ledger.com. Consider using browser extensions (like Bridge) only when officially required and verified.
Try a different USB port or cable, restart Ledger Live, and ensure the device is unlocked. Update drivers on your OS if necessary.
If the device is lost or the PIN is forgotten, restore a new Ledger using your recovery seed. If the seed is lost, funds cannot be recovered.
Immediately disconnect the device, verify ledger.com for any notices, and move funds to a secure wallet if you suspect compromise.
Use Ledger’s official support channels and knowledge base for guided help. Never share your recovery seed with support agents.
